You waste whipped cream on hot cocoa? You should be whipped for such a waste. But that is a discussion for the Adult forum...

"Respected"?

jdaw1 and oneeye are both well respected ex-editors
Me? "well respected"? Never before have I so praised in public. Nurse! NURSE! The smelling salts. {Swoons.}

(Though being put in the same category as oneeye has got be insulting to at least one of us, if not both.)

I sense early manoevres for the "Cutest couple" title in the next round of internal awards. :)

Julian, you have to read between the lines - well respected ex-editors, not ex-well respected editors. The respect comes from being ex- and therefore being free to reveal all manner of dark secrets like the time [name withheld] rejected 500+ submissions in two hours on the feeble excuse that they were all identical. Or that World/Dutch editors were almost expelled in bulk when an Admin consulted an atlas and concluded that since there was no such country as Dutchland they were all frauds. That sort of thing that we could never reveal as editors.

Ahh. I was almost expelled.
Now I know why it is called World/Nederlands and not World/Dutch :lightbulb

Eric-the-Bun: I laughed out loud. Marvellous. Thank you.

But I was rather hoping for best-thread. Then I'd have to re-apply just to update my profile. Cutest couple with oneeye just wouldn't cut the mustard.

Separately, editors of a delicate disposition should not examine this photograph of Mr and Mrs Wiseman. (Work-safe: not pornographic.)

That does it - I'm nominating this thread for the next mozzies. If that's all it took to get you back, I would have done it already :D

But I won't stay. Reason for resignation stands.

Yes, tidy some of those few categories that I might inherit from old permissions (mostly by click-throughing my own submissions ('suggestions')); update profile; post in the fora; toodle-pip. Useful, but not more.

This is tedious. Please reply to the first post in this thread.

From the first post:
What is needed is proper straight-through processing.

I agree. :D

Any suggestion that is not acted upon within one year should expire. :D

That solves a multitude of non-problems, such as the perception that there is a backlog, or not enough editors. :D

It may even have Darwin-like impacts on poeple who insist on submitting content-free sites, and will definitely perplex spammers who won't know if they expired and died or got discovered and killed. :D :D :D :D :D

Do we need to meta-tag a forum post as a 'suggestion', so that the suggestion-holding queue recognises it as such? Without such tagging, does it never expire? How can that incentivise accurate tagging?

Have you been taking lessons from hutcheson on posting style?

Appalled of New York

Am I allowed to mention that I made another submission ('suggestion', etc) over 5 minutes ago, and that nothing has yet happened?

Yours, of course appalled, of New York.

The category didn't have an editor. Does that mean I have to bribe a meta rather than an ordinary editor? Are they more expensive? (I'm not sure it's worth as much as two pizzas.)
