You have gotten a few responses to your post in the Adult forum. I'd suggest you continue the discussion of your site in that thread, not in this one, since we're talking about Adult content here. Thanks.

Actually, since your site is an Adult site, have you checked in the Adult forum? (I don't have access, nor do I want to, so I can't tell) - I saw that you asked for a password.

You have to go back to your original thread in the Adult forum and read the answer that was given to you. You have to submit your site to the correct Adult category before it can be reviewed. You submitted it to a Society category that was inappropriate. Thanks :)

Application turned down to be an editor

I applied to be an editor, can't remember which section it was it was a couple of months ago, why did I apply, well I was amazed at how long the editors take to accept or turn down sites, so I thought well hey I'll offer my services.

I have written a few web sites, I would not say I am the best or anywhere near it but having been in IT for 25 years I have a fair understanding of the web and SEO activities etc.

My application was turned down!! why you might ask.

Well this made me laugh - I could have accepted that they may say I am a useless cretin or the previous web sites I had done where not good enough to accept me into this elite group of editors.

But they told me they had too many editors for the section I applied for.

Well I suggest have a cleanup of your editors, anyone who does not edit one site a week dump them and let someone else who is willing to have a chance.

Regards
Steve Friday

ODP site growth rate has been steadily on the rise as well as new editor admission. The ODP is looking :D IMO.

Unless the reviewing meta editor put in a personal comment, what the email that you got probably said is that the category you chose either has enough editors or is too large for a new editor to start out in.

Is it just me, or is this thread wildly off-topic now? :) I'm thinking that it's time to close off this discussion.

I agree that it is wildly off topic, but the theme is sort of a hardy perennial. Seems as though every couple of months, some moderately disgruntled submitter posts a message to announce our forth coming demise.

While I wouldn't mind seeing it closed, another similar thread will soon rise from the ashes, so from a contrarian perspective, we might consider keeping it open and bumping it periodically, so that when some one else decides that we are _______ (fill inthe blank) we can just refer them to this thread.

There's an idea, a permanent eulogy to ODP's death. The longest thread in RZ. A contender for the Guiness Book of Records. :p

It's an interesting idea, but I suspect that anyone who decides that they need to resurrect this topic is probably going to want to start their own thread anyway. No one wants to piggy-back on someone else's death announcement :)

Very good point. so let's kill the ODP is dead thread until it resurrects in a new form, then, instead of us all rushing to answer, someone can post:

"<yawn> see thread........"

I remember that. <yawn> is so wonderfully descriptive, though.

Maybe Hutcheson can come up with a multisyllabic word that means the same thing.

Remember, it's not rude if they don't know we are being rude. :D :D :D :D :D :D
