ODP License Violation

Hello Editors,

I am referring to this issue in your archive:

http://www.resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1629&page=2&highlight=CHEF2CHEF

On March 7,2005 our site was delisted for an ODP license violation

We corrected that violation forthwith on March 8, 2005 and posted that in the above thread.

Nine months have gone and our listing remains inactive.

Is delisting a penalty for the life of a site, a year or some other duration?

Thanks for in advance for your time :)

There aren't any durations. When an editor next works in that area, the site will be available for review (as if it had never been reviewed before), along with all other sites that the editor can find (through Google or site submittals or whatever). We don't know which sites will be reviewed first.

So this time interval, like all others in "volunteer time zones," is indeterminate.

Thanks for the quick response.

I suppose it's good news and bad news. The good is that there is not a "for life" delist. The bad is that your viewers continue to miss the 2 million pages of unique content we provide to foodservice professionals.

That's easy :) Content contributed by 500k visitors each month, such as forum posts, job posts, resumes, culinary schools, press releases, editorials, foodservice classifieds, food events, chef services, chef blogs, restaurant reviews, thousands of recipes and plenty more. That's as unique as can be.

The list: http://chef2chef.net/content.htm

Excellent, now don't get you hopes up if you see an ODP visit tonight in your logs -- I don't edit in that part of the directory but you have piqued my interst.

I'm going to try a couple of those pork tenderloin recipes I saw in the forum - but I don't edit where this site would go either :)

Looks like you are going to have a great deal of activity from us. I don't edit where your site could be listed, either.

However, my son is a culinary student. Your website has some great resources and information that I didn't even know we'd need before he graduates high school.

Now if I could just get him to find the kitchen at home. ;)

On March 8 you wrote "all listings in question are now gone from the chef2chef database. Please re-check our database."
Editors at resource-zone don't review the discussed sites and there was no reply.
It's unlikely the reviewing editor will have seen a thread here.
If you haven't already done it (I don't know and give no status check), you can write something like this before the suggested description:
[No longer uses ODP data as discussed in http://resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41744]

The reviewing editor should investigate the claim.
If you have resubmitted without such a note, you can submit ONCE more to the SAME category.

I'm afraid that you still have some listings copied from us. Just in this one category, first page: http://foodservice.chef2chef.net/directory/Business/Training_and_Schools/Hospitality/index.html
I spotted:
Birmingham College of Food Tourism and Creative Studies.
Cornell Hotel and Restaurant Management Simulation
Creative Management Systems
d'Orleans & Associates.
Drake International
Foodservice Education
Foodservice University
Gayton Training
Glion Group of Switzerland
Hospitality Management Training Institute
Hotel and Catering Training Company

All with exact copies of the ODP title and description. As it happens, several of these listings needed minor adjustments, one needed removing (dead) and another moving, and so your copy is no longer an exact copy in these cases. (Or it won't be once the public side of the ODP has updated.) Fact remains that I cannot give your site a complete OK for listing. What a pity!

Ouch!

All of the above listings plus 798 additional listing have been removed. These listing escaped my March 05 purge since the date added was not identical to the date modified.

My apologies for the oversight.

Thanks. Duly noted. Now it will be up to an editor in that part of the directory to review.

Thank you for the quick reply. I did re-submit the site yesterday (once :) referencing this thread as suggested by editor jkandersen (thanks for the tip).

I know you don't do site status checks but I would like to make sure that our ducks are in a row and no other issue is presenting a roadblock at this time.
