The submittal policies allow you to suggest your site twice.

When?

I wouldn't rush to use my second suggestion. Why? I'd wait because THIS might happen: sometime in the future I might realize that my website wasn't originally listable, but I had added new unique content that made it listable.

And if that happened, I'd want to use my second suggestion--if I hadn't already used it.

But, obviously, you're the only person to judge whether that might happen, or if it has already happened. And you are always free to use the second suggestion whenever you want, based on your best judgment.

As to the latest questions:

If the website is in Romanian, YES, the description should be in correct Romanian (which I guess uses diacritics?), and YES, it should be in a subcategory of World: Română. And if you didn't do that before, then YES, it would help us if you made a new, more correct suggestion.

But if you make a mistake in your suggestion, and you don't correct your own suggestion, don't worry, someone else WILL correct it.

Thank you.

But about the URL form?

The URL should be whatever works. I personally prefer not using the "WWW" subdomain, it's a technique whose time has passed. But habits die hard: some companies use www and some don't.

We list them either way, whichever works. (We just won't list BOTH URLs.)

Everything is perfect

Everything is perfect :D

The very right categories :D
The perfect wording :D
Used diacritics, etc, etc. etc. etc.

I wait for many months  for both web sites <removed URLs> to be approved.

What happened with them? :confused::icon_ques:icon_idea

Romanian SEO community

Are you curios to find the Romanian SEO community opinion about DMOZ ?
Here is the link http://forum.seopedia.ro/22-dmoz/

It is not a surprise, upon me. The feed back is miserable.
A lot of people are completely disappointed.
Most of them are professional.
Most of them claim the unfair treatment.

Now I come back after many months with the same bitter taste :(
My suggested two sites are still in ... I do not know where !
Two weeks ago I sent again my suggestions.
The same result: NOTHING.

Recently I have seen the category http: //www.dmoz.org/World/Rom%C3%A2n%C4%83/Computere/Internet/C%C4%83utare/Directoare/ need an editor.
Because I got my web directory I have the necessary experience to be a Dmoz editor. I have applied to be an editor.
The same result: No reply. Dmoz is a back whole. Everything you send to it is dead.
I offered myself as volunteer. Is it sure Dmoz need editors?
Nothing is logic. Nothing is transparent.
What a pity Dmoz counts in Google SERP !

Thanks for letting us know your opinion.

I can't trace any application to be an editor from you. Did you receive and respond to the email confirmation message that would have been sent almost immediately after you replied? Until that transaction completes, an application is invisible to us mere humans.

As to the Romanian SEO community, it might have misunderstood our objectives and how we operate here. ODP is a volunteer organisation building a directory as a hobby. Editors edit where they wish, when they wish and as much as they wish within the constraints of their permissions. We have no schedules or systems to force people to do work that they don't volunteer to do. ODP is not primarily a free listing service for website owners and it does not attempt to process their listing suggestions within the time scales desired by them.

Surely "professionals" would take the time to read the public documents about DMOZ before complaining about it? If they did that, they would not be disappointed, because they would understand what DMOZ is, and what volunteer editors do.

If they do not read those simple facts, it is not surprising that they are confused, but there is nothing more that we can do to help them understand.

Dear @Jimnoble,

It is not (mainly and only) my opinion. It is a general one. I have only shared it.

Something should be improved.
Critics are good, they show us our weaknesses ;)

I was told many times that "volunteers could not be forced in any way to do something". You are right.

But I have two questions:
- Why volunteers normally should not have a target ?
- If volunteers miss, why Dmoz do not accept new ones?

I agree you, maybe I am not the right person to be editor but I found in SEO forum many colleagues refused. This is the fact.

The sense of my very critic and acid post was not to reflate myself but to emphasize some issues Dmos could have (as any other organisation)

PLEASE DO TAKE THE CONSTRUCTIVE PART FROM MY MESSAGE !

Kind regards,

Petre

Volunteer editors do have a "target": to build and improve the directory. How much time they wish to spend doing that is entirely up to them. That's what being a volunteer means. ;)

What on earth makes you think we do not accept new editors? We accept them every single day. :)
There is no quota that makes us wait until someone leaves before accepting another one. LOL.

Perhaps I should apply to be an Editor, my girlfriend is Romanian and I'm sure we can find suitable websites for the appropriate categories, lol.

Even if that was a joke, it is worth pointing out that each editor account is individual and sharing accounts are not allowed.
