Dead Links - Maine - Rec/Sports - Summer Camps

The following category contains dead links (the entities may still exist, but the links go nowhere):

http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Maine/Recreation_and_Sports/Summer_Camps/

Here are the links that do not return an active page:

Camp Watch
http://www.campwatch.com/

Central Maine Summer Sports Camps
http://www.cmtc.net/index.asp?refPage=$$content/athletics/summer_camps/index.html

There is another entry that still exists, but DMOZ is linking to the wrong place within:

Maine Residential Camps
http://www.acane-camps.org/meres.htm - Better to link to http://www.acane-camps.org/index.html

Dead Links - Maine - Rec/Sports - Basketball

The following category contains dead links:
http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Maine/Recreation_and_Sports/Basketball/

The entries are as follows:

Central Maine Sting - AAU Basketball team from Central Maine
http://www.eteamz.com/CntrlMaineSting/ - The entry returns a file not found.

Maine Basketball Report
http://www.mainebasketballreport.com/ - The domain itself does not expire until October, and the registrant is from Maine, so not sure why it returns a page not found.

Dead Link - Maine - Locality/Ashland/Trav/Lodging

The following category contains what is clearly a dead link:

http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Maine/Localities/A/Ashland/Travel_and_Tourism/Lodging/Hotels_and_Motels/

The Four Seasons Inn (with a full description of this specific inn, including how many rooms)
http://www.mainerec.com/fourinn.html - The message given on this page is "This Customer is No Longer With Us" and the user is then redirected to a page not related to Four Seasons Inn.

Redirected Link - Maine/Trav/Lodging/Motel

The following category appears to contain a redirected link:

http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Maine/Localities/B/Bar_Harbor/Travel_and_Tourism/Lodging/Hotels_and_Motels/

Aurora Motel
http://www.theaurora.com/ - The description is of a motel named the "Aurora." However, when you click on the DMOZ link you go to the Briarfield, a B&B. Also, while the URL stays the same at first, if you click on any link on the home page, you get taken to a new domain name, that for the Briarfield B&B: http://www.briarfieldinn.com

Link Not Equal To Content

The following category contains one link, whose content is inconsistent with the description on DMOZ:

http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Maine/Localities/B/Bucksport/Travel_and_Tourism/Lodging/Hotels_and_Motels/

Best Western Jed Prouty Motor Inn - Located on the waterfront of the Penobscot River . . .
http://www.travelweb.com/booker/AppLogic+booker.hotel.info.Start?brand=BW&iid=BW&pid=20013

The URL is owned by Travelweb and a click does take the user through to Travelweb (though to a different page), but the result has nothing at all to do with the Best Western Jed Prouty Motor Inn.

66523
66524
66525
66677
66683
66770

There is still a lot more to go through, but we are making a dent. Hope this helps.

are done, I don't have access to the other categories, but I'm sure someone will be along soon.

Thanks for helping out. Some of these are only ever going to be spotted by actual humans :)

Dead Links - Maine/Trav/Lodg/Hotel/Houlton

The following category contains dead links:

http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Maine/Localities/H/Houlton/Travel_and_Tourism/Lodging/Hotels_and_Motels/

Ivey Motor Lodge
http://www.mainerec.com/ivey.html - This link is dead. I called the lodge - not sure if I may post the number - and was informed that the owner does not have a web site. Please contact me via my email address on file if you need the number.

Scottish Inns
http://www.mainerec.com/scottish.html - Dead link. For a replacement, I was told to see either:
http://www.bookroomsnow.com/proppick.asp?CityID=12829&Submit=Submit or
http://www.bookroomsnow.com/propinfo.asp?HIPropCode=SMEHO

P.S. Am not seeing implementation of changes on #66525 and #66890, which is unusual. Did the system hiccup?

Dead Link - Maine/Trav/Lodging/Millinocket/Motel

The following category contains a dead link:

http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Maine/Localities/M/Millinocket/Travel_and_Tourism/Lodging/Hotels_and_Motels/

Best Western Heritage Hotel - Millinocket
http://www.mainerec.com/heritage.html - This link doesn't point to the hotel at all. I called the proprietor and learned that it is no longer a Best Western, but is now called "Best Value Heritage Inn" and the new web-site is http://www.heritageinnmaine.com (which is under construction, as you will see). It is the same building in the same place, just by a different name. Indeed, hotel owners often change the entity under whom they "flag," so given that the only thing that changed was the "flag," but not the owner, building or services, perhaps it can be a simple title change with new URL. Notwithstanding, the current link is invalid.
