Aw, give me a break. The man made a joke. Seriously, if people can't see it in the humourous tone in which it was intended, they have far greater problems than whether or not the ODP will list their site. You need to relax a little.
I point out the very essence of why most people are angry with ODP / Editors / Procedures which is an example from the keyboard directly from an editor and am told to "relax".

I see you are an ADMIN and thus respect your position on the matter. However, where is the executive leadership when an editor / meta / moderator is giving a forum member 20 stokes with the keyboard? Where are the ADMIN's when an editor needs to be told to "relax"?

Does this send a message of an ODP leadership without oversight?

Well, I think motsa was just trying to put things in perspective and was concerned for your well being. If it makes you feel better, motsa is more than welcome to tell me to relax. In fact, I wish motsa would tell me to relax more often and maybe I would feel better about things and get some sleep. :D

Seriously, I understand what you are saying, but fortunately, the ODP is made up of humans which makes it more interesting for those who put in all those volunteer hours. Besides, most of the time hard feelings for the ODP are defused by such jocular comments. Most would come to the conclusion "Hey, these guys/gals aren't as uptight as I thought. Maybe they are approachable after all. Can we talk?" :) But I guess there will always be a few that won't.

No.

Chamo, we will not discuss the forum guidelines or the moderation thereof. You're welcome to post here under those guidelines and this moderation. Your anger, though, does a disservice to those people who are communicating here: take it elsewhere, and don't bring it back when you return. The firing squads are merely disbanded, not disarmed.

From an ODP editor on why he (or she) won't come to resource-zone: http://forums.seochat.com/showpost.php?p=53808&postcount=5
Nah, I'm not one of those editors. Actually, I've been to resource-zone exactly three times. Nope, don't like it there, not one bit... seems like "rude/stupid" is the rule rather than the exception.

hutcheson, my anger is mainly oriented to your elitist attitude to EVERYBODY on this board. Does anyone get a kind remark from you? Can you ever respond without adding some connotation of "it's my way or the highway"? I knew it would be only a matter of time before you chimed in with an ultimatum.

Your comment "The firing squads are merely disbanded, not disarmed" has implications that my site (which is currently listed) will not be there in the morning due to your "disbanded" firing squad. If it is removed it will be a clear case of editor corruption stemming from this episode. I am downloading a copy of this thread and your reply.

BTW, my site is fully W3C compliant and also present unique content that is not affiliate.

So, hutcheson...you need to "relax". :)

Highway it is.

On a completely unrelated note, we are happy to report that the temporary prohibition on all forms of humor in forum postings has been RESCINDED. The permanent rules about personal attacks and angry postings, however, remain in effect.

I do wish to express to the community my regret that I incorrectly read the situation. If I had been able to recognize that our former guest was merely trolling for a warning, we could have skipped that step and saved a bit of heat.
