I had my site added after about 11 months in the gamling/chats and forums section but the title was added a little funny, I wanted to have it changed but now I can not find my site on dmoz? I can't see that I may have done anything to cause an issue and would love to have my site located :)

If anyone has a thought please let me know!

Thanks
Chris

That's OK, we're not sure how you ever could have gotten the idea that your site was listed.

As for related sites, your confusion is somewhat transparent. Do you contend that this is the only site you own?

yes, it was listed (I have the email when it was listed and i chatted with the editor) and I own this site, as well as another that is different (www.seo-gambling.com) but that site has just begun and is not listed. So other than the two sites that Is all I own. The main reson I checked was the allfreechips site was listed with the anchor text of "A gambling forum with casino onuses and contests" I was going to suggest to change that to the name or just casino fourm or somthing shorter.

no, I sent an email to the editor of the category, I could PM you the addy as I dont think it would be appropriate to post it, but he looked at it and was happy to add it it was the comments.. plus its still cashed in googloe from when it was listed. I dont want to complain and argue about if it was there as it was, I just do not know if it was moved or removed is the main reason for me being here. I hop0e that makes sense but I dont understand your first post still on this?

Thanks,
Chris

The site was listed. DMOZ internal references have problems finding it stats because at this moment your site is down.
We can not discuss why the site is not listed at this moment.

Back to repeating the answer to THAT part of the question:

"We don't do status reports any more."

Right I got that, but reading the faq on removal I didnt fit any of those, and the fact it was listed was question, as if it was moved you can not search for a site by the url on dmoz as far as i can see.

Again "we don't do status request"
asking questions like "why is my site not listed", "is my site already reviewed", "why has my site been delisted" are all status requests.

OK. is there a way to search for a site by url then? Im not asking the status of searching just a way such as site:www.a..... but that doesnt work in dmoz.

You can try the search using just the domain name (WITHOUT the www part!). ODP search lags behind the directory pages (by a week or three, usually). So it's not guaranteed to find a listing. And of course if someone has multiple domains, we might list a different one than they expect, so multi-domain owners would need to look for all of their domain names to avoid getting a reputation for deceptive spamming (that, or make very clear on all the domains that one particular domain is the "real" home page for the entity (whether person, organization, or company).

that works if the anchor text is the page name (wich I woulod think all sites here should be to elimate said spamming) but its a 40% chance to find sites listed with domain name if the name is different.

Ill wait 30 days and see if it comes back then re-submit I guess, Just found it strange that the first responses I recieved here had nothing to do with my situation.

once again, didnt come here to complain or argue but to understand, thanks again.

To summarize -- (and I don't think I'm breaking any rules, here). Your site was listed in [cat]Games/Gambling/Chats_and_Forums[/cat]. (We apologize for the comment that it had never been listed -- our standard way of checking returns no response if the site is down.) It is no longer listed.

[DMOZ hat off]. I think even you will agree that that is not the best category for the site. [DMOZ hat on]

I think that, if you suggest, once more, the site to the single best category for your site, noting in brackets [] after the description all the other categories you've suggested your site to, your chances of listing would be improved. But that may just be me.
