Seems the article writer knows what they are talking about...lol.
Why are there so many (easy to spot) errors in the article if the writer knows what he is talking about.

I could only find one statement that is true.
Good search engine optimisation companies attain good rankings for their clients with or without the open directory.
Orignaly it inlcuded "such as ourselves" after companies, but based on this article I certainly woudn't call them a good SEO company.

I've never found a SEO company I could trust...

That, I suspect, is because you've been reading this forum too much. Entirely too many of the SEOs who post here are either looking for an unfair advantage or carping because they can't get one.

Some of them aren't looking for unfair advantage, just showing a total lack of understanding (or even desire to understand) about what we're doing. I wouldn't call those untrustworthy so much as incompetent.

But we've got some fine editors who are SEOs. They check their SEO hats at the door before putting on their ODP hats. The fact that they don't favor their clients' sites while editing makes them worthy of trust in my opinion.

Lets hope 2007 means business as usual.

Don't worry, I am not going to ask the BIG question - saying that the reason so many have been asking the question is that they value DMOZ and treat it as a very valuable resource.

It should be remembered that DMOZ is a non profit making site and relies heavily on guru's giving up valuable time to bring you this well used directory.

All of us at G3 wish all the guys at DMOS a superb Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We all hope 2007 means business as usual.

I agree that this is the one true thing I found in the article. My own sites are proof. Of the three I own and control myself, only one is listed ... and all three are doing very well from the SE/SEO side.

You might find the answer by reading announcement thread that appears at the top of all the forums here... ;)

I would also ask, serviceatclick, that you not hijack a thread - which was addressing other issues - to ask a question that should be asked elsewhere.

Well I am a new member of dmoz forums, and after reading the article, my take is that this SEO is marketing himself by making the free site look like a bad idea.

I know it sounds simple, but sometimes simple is all that needs to be said.
