I have been submitting my site Clipperlight.Com for several months and don't seem to be getting any where although I am now listed elseware, as a subscriber to AOL and an advertiser with google, I can't understand it.
I have also offered to act as an editor. Is there any way I can find out what the position is regarding my site, as it is very important to me to be listed.
Regards

Please see ATTENTION - Forum Guidelines - READ BEFORE POSTING for information on how to format your post:

FORMATTING YOUR REQUEST:
  • Always include the URL of the site you're asking about in the title of the thread.

Also:

WHEN TO POST:
  • Wait at least one month after you last (not first time) submitted your site to start a thread here asking about its status.

It would help if after you make a post you check if the links you enter actually works, by clicking on them yourself, otherwise this question is never going to get answered. The site URL you entered does not work.

Also, I don't understand why the category you are asking about changed from one post to the next.

Bobrat, maybe it was a problem with your browser. The link works.

Actualy, only the last link works :)

Weel I first used the link in post#5 which for sure does not work, then I used the other one a couple of time and I didn't work when I posted, but I agree it works now.

I have checked both URL's and they both work OK. The reason there are two submisson, is that I have applied to both over time. Can anyone tell me who will inform me as to the situation with my site.

Please bump this thread any time from 7th May 2005 and we will.

We require that subsequent status requests are only made after 6 months.

A submittal about seven months old is waiting there for review. There's also (apparently) a submittal waiting somewhere in http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Shopping and a fair amount of editor time has been wasted mole-whacking redundant submittals and rerouting missubmittals. (There may be other duplicates that haven't yet been weeded out: also, non-duplicates may be accidentally deleted.

JUST STOP SUBMITTING, OK? IT DOESN'T HELP ANYONE!

We never know when one of the volunteers will choose to work in a category, or how they will choose which sites to review first. So the "why" question is always unanswerable.

Site review progress

I have not submitted any information for the last six months and waited as requested for six months before re-accessing this thread. I did submit to two different catagories, which I understand is permissible. If the problem is not having enough volunteer editors to do the job, why when I vounteered to act as an editor was the request totally ignored? I have written and run serveral internet companies and am a member of the local government IEG partnership, with impecable references. Because the open directory is used by such as Google and AOL in their search procedure, and may mean the difference between an internet company being successful or failing. you have a moral duty to make sure the thing is run fairly and efficiently. That does not mean taking over twelve months to review a site, when offers of help are there and not taken up. Will you please get your act together and accept help when it is offered.
Regards.
