Peter, I am sorry if this sounds a little picky, but forum guidelines require that you wait a minimum of 30 days from your latest, not first, submission before asking for status. However, in order to be fair, we must adhere to these guidelines. Please, bump this thread with your request on October 3. Thank you for understanding.

Back again and I hope I complied with the 30-day rule... I hope I can get an update on the listing of "rosenzweig.info" and learn if there are any problems with my most recent submission of the site.

Thanks in advance for your response. :)

Cheers,
Peter Rosenzweig

Don't mean to rush anything, but is there some expectation by when the review will be completed?

Thanks,
Peter

There is no way to know when one of our volunteer editors will be reviewing your site for possible inclusion in the directory.

This may sound pickier then my friend dogbows response, but,, we require that you wait 6 months after your previous status request. This means you can bump this thread after April 4, 2005 if your site isn't listed by then.

WHEN TO POST:

* Wait at least one month after you last (not first time) submitted your site to start a thread here asking about its status.
* Wait at least six months after getting a status update from an editor about your submission before asking for the next status update.
* If you're coming back to get an update on the status of your site, please do not start a new thread. Reuse the original thread you started. It would probably help if you bookmarked the thread the first time around.

Thanks for your update - I was originally asked by one of your reviewer to put the submission into the anonymous section. Looks like requirements have changed. Any chance that this submission will every be reviewed...? I originally submitted this site a year ago (i.e., May 2004)...

No, you said that was the category you picked - it wasn't found there so a resubmission was suggested. We don't normally check the site here to see if you picked the right category, only check it is there or not, that is your responsibility. The reviewing editor, when the site is reviewed, will make the decision as to whether it is right or not. In this case they said it was incorrect and moved it.

Please see the FAQ section on this site. All sites that are waiting for review will eventually be reviewed and either moved, listed, or rejected. Your site has been reviewed and moved. It now needs another editor to review it for the category it has been moved to. When that might be is an unknown - we would tell you but we don't know ourselves. It could be tomorrow or it might be several years away.

Thanks for the demonstrated arrogance in your message. It clearly illustrated that the selection of reviewers needs to be subjected to a review as well. Maybe, individuals with some greater maturity would be a better choice.

I received an email from Arthur Rubin on 05/19/04, who claimed to be initial reviewer of my submission, providing me with the recommendation to move my site from where I originally posted it to the one that is now questioned.

Anyway, it would be appropriate that replies from DMOZ demonstrated a little bit a greater respect to the user community.

Thanks,
Peter

There's lots of replies in this forum that might be found to be arrogant, but I cannot understand what problem you find in this one. It seems it's just a factual explanation of the review process.

Put aside your inferiority complex: just read and learn. Then, someday, somewhere, you'll be able to help someone out by telling them what they need most to know -- and some of them will call you names because it wasn't what they wanted to hear.

Unfortunately, you can never tell ahead of time which ones it will be.
