Hey ... hadn't thought of that. Yep, guess it wasn't anything to get excited over ... thanks for pointing that out.

Not sure why the link didn't work. Just clicked it here in the forum and it worked for me (except I don't have a username or password because i'm not an editor ). Thanks for the help!

Well, for dmoz.org internal reasons, it doesn't work if you *do* have a password.

Re: Status of http://www.asmarteru.com/

It's a new year and 2 months later so I was wondering how my site looks in the queue?

Thanks

You're almost there. You're second in line to be reviewed.

Just checking to see if I'm still in the queue.

You're still in the queue of a couple dozen sites (somewhere in the middle if sorted by date but that's irrelevent).

Have I been "pushed" back again or just "pushed" around?

I'm afraid it's still waiting, still in about the same size group of sites.

So what's the deal? It's been almost 9 months and I'm still waiting. Do I need to bring this up to somebody? Should I request a different cat? I know things take time ... but it shouldn't take more time to get listed in here then it does to create life! Just my 2 cents.

The "deal" is that it is taking that long to get sites reviewed in that part of the directory.

Do I need to bring this up to somebody?

No, you don't "need" to. Your site will not get listed any quicker by sending messages to people. As you may have read if you've looked elesewhere on this forum, all editors are unpaid volunteers, and sites are reviewed in whatever order an editor wishes to review them.

Should I request a different cat?
This will not expedite the site getting listed. If the site was submitted to the best-fitting category for it, then that is the way to get the listing approved in the shortest time.

I know things take time ... but it shouldn't take more time to get listed in here then it does to create life! Just my 2 cents.
Your opinion is noted. In the ideal world we would have enough editors that we could deal with all unreviewed sites and have the time to add whatever sites we find to the directory. In the real world we don't, so yes, it takes a long while to get sites reviewed in some areas of the directory.

And in the interests of effective communication, your post comes across as rather inflammatory. While I can understand that you are frustrated at not getting your site listed, there are many others in the same boat, and many editors feeling like they are trying to scale Mount Everest. We are all doing the best job we can.

Three billion years? Six days? I'm not sure I'm following your reasoning here, since (1) that was a different contractor in any case, and (2) our clock starts ticking from the time a website is created, not when it is submitted. And there are many sites that have been in existance for more than eight months that still haven't been reviewed.

Sorry for having a bad day on my last post. With that said, I was wondering where my site stands in the queue? Thank you for your time.

Awaiting review, along with a few dozen others. It's not a queue, site suggestions may be reviewed in any order, so "where does it stand?" isn't really a meaningful question.

Thank you for your comments ... "where does it stand in the queue" referred to its status "in line to be reviewed" or "sorry, it’s been deleted".

Nothing new here, it's still awaiting review in this category.

It has been some time now since I submitted my site for consideration and was wondering if there has been any change in the status of my submission? Thank you for your time.
