Also please keep in mind that duplicate entries for informational sites are considered solely on their content and in some cases it is beneficial to the directory.

Having duplicate listings for commercial sites listed in Shopping or Business categories is rarely beneficial?

So what you are basically saying is you have these policies but you might not decide to go with them if you do not feel like it?

There are those of us who frown upon any mentioning of wrongdoing concerning money! If you have extra money, feel free to send it to staff@dmoz.org where it would be put to good use by buying food for us poor impoverished editors.

I'm glad that my submission query generated so much debate. I guess that DMOZ will then not allow my company's websites to be listed in multiple areas. Well although I consider this to be somewhat unfair, I accept this. I would however like to amend the current location of my company's website ( http://www.ifxmarkets.com )

from: http://dmoz.org/Business/Investing/Brokerages/Online_Brokers/

to: http://dmoz.org/Business/Investing/Commodities,_Futures/Brokerages/

I believe this will atleast more accurately cover the range of services we provide, and indicate we do not only offer our services online but by phone also.

-Thanks to all, your efforts and comments are much appreciated.

Further to my last post, what is the best way to go about having my website moved from its current category to the more appropriate category?

-Thanks

The way to request a change is to use the "Update url" link near the upper right corner of the page the site is listed in.

But I'm not envisioning a listing in the commodities futures category, since you also offer foreign exchange and spot metals.

Since you offer service by phone as well as online, it seems like a move to http://dmoz.org/Business/Investing/Brokerages/ would be right.

But I am far from expert in this area, others may have better suggestions.

Thanks for the advice,

I have requested the change in the 'Update URL' section. Is there any way you can find out if your changes will be made, or how long they will take to be made?

-Thanks for your help

Only by actually doing it.
