If you had cared to check you would see that I first made an enquiry on the 20/6 then on 20/7 then on 26/8 and finally on the 23/9 for which I received no reply so I repeated this again on 24/9. Thats two or three days early depending on your point of view, well I'm sorry if that has offended you but I think I have been more than patient up to this point.
I imagine the editor did "care to check", and found that you were inquiring less than a month after you last received a status update. Asking you to wait the full calendar month was quite correct.
We get lots of requests for status. In order to answer them all, we have to limit how often they may be asked. And if we relax the limit for somebody, then everybody will use the relaxed limit and somebody else will try to push it a little further. That's why we strongly discourage attempts to inquire about status any more frequently than once per calendar month.
