Status please of http://www.gaging.com/

Waiting since January 2003!

I submitted my site in January 2003. It's now October 2004, I'm still not in, nor have I been contacted regarding my submission. I've waited six months from the last time I've asked...so what about my submission?

Is there a reason, aside from the number of sites waiting, that Gaging.com is not included in DMOZ? I believe that I followed all the rules and that my web site should be included in shopping/tools as the most appropriate catagory. Is there something else I need to do....besides waiting patiently?

Do nothing. Do not resubmit. Wait patiently. Read the forum FAQ.

Actually, technically you didn't. You are several days early.

But, since I went to the trouble of loading the pool of unreviewed there, I might as well tell you that the site is still waiting.

Time for my 6-month check in. It's been more than two years (2 years, 2 months, 23 days) since I submitted my site (www.gaging.com) for inclusion. Anything I can do besides waiting patiently and re-reading the rules?

There's never anything you can do to promote your site at the ODP; what you do is simply to suggest it so an editor doesn't overlook it when looking for good sites on a particular topic. That, you've done.

If you're looking for ways to promote the site, there are many ways to do that. (Think outside the web box here: put the URL on your business cards and your yellow page ads and your delivery trucks' side panels ... and yes, ODP editors get URLs from those sources: and since those sources are obviously much higher quality than random submittals, those URLs even tend to get priority reviews!)
