I am constantly looking for ways to promote my site and I'm building up some good relationships with other travel sites so hopefully i'll get there

I just know that ODP is the leading directory to get listed in so hopefully this will happen soon too.

Sorry but one more thing - if you submit to another category does this affect your submittal time?

Maybe I need some advice on the category.

I have submitted it at the moment to: http://www.dmoz.org/Recreation/Travel/Guides_and_Directories/

but I have noticed that a couple of my competitors or sites that offer a similar service of letting people submit and read real holiday reviews have been listed in:
http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Travel_and_Tourism/Travel_Guides/

For instance: realholidayreports.com and holidaysuncovered.com.

They offer the same as me as in people can submit and read holiday reports for worldwide locations but have been accepted in this category.

So my question is should I change my submission to this category and if so does this mean that I would have to wait longer to be reviewed?
Or even better can you get your site in more than one category?

It's safe to submit to one non-Regional category and one Regional category - they will almost certainly be reviewed by different editors independantly.

In this category that I have submitted to it is asking for a volunteer to edit the category. Does this mean that my site will not be reviewed until someone volunteers?

No. The vast majority of sites are added by people who are NOT listed as editors in the category.

Could someone please update me on whether my site is any nearer to being reviewed? I originally submitted June 22nd last year and from previous replies it looks like it hasn't been touched.

RE: petsinclothes.com -- when did you last suggest it? If it was less than 1 month ago, you need to wait 1 full calendar month. If you don't remember when it was, start counting that 1 calendar month starting now.
