Please read our forum guidelines, we need a clicakble link for the category.

btw we have no influence on the search engines, if you want to be listed with them you will have to submit your site to them yourself.

Southern England
Your suggestion has been received and is awaiting review. We can't predict when that might be. If it hasn't been listed in 6 months, please ask again.

Since all your customers are in Bradford, don't you think a lising in Bradford might be more appropriate?

Still waiting

I guess Bradford would be a good idea, but any listing would be a start ;)

7 months since submission - any further news???

It was moved to a United Kingdom category, and then removed, due to your location not being given on the site.

If you put your location on the site, you may submit to the appropriate Locality under [cat]Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom[/cat].

Not really understanding you, - list a location on my site, it does doesn't it?

However, do I have to resubmit as as a new submission & begin the waiting process again?

Not that I can see. Neither location or usable service area, unless you consider "Bradford, and surrounding communities" usable. I'm not a UK editor, but it doesn't look usable to me.

Please suggest either to your locality, or the shire containing your service area.

Well yes - that's about as far as I wish to cover - Bradford (the town) and the surrounding villages - I do not wish to cover the whole of West Yorkshire nor the neighbouring towns.
Can it remain where it is or do I/should I move it?

available for hire in Bradford, & the surrounding areas

which category should I put that in?
Regional/North_America/United_States/Pennsylvania/Localities/B/Bradford/
Regional/North_America/United_States/Illinois/Localities/B/Bradford
Regional/North_America/United_States/Ohio/Localities/B/Bradford
Regional/North_America/United_States/Rhode_Island/Localities/B/Bradford
Regional/North_America/United_States/Tennessee/Localities/B/Bradford
Regional/North_America/United_States/Vermont/Localities/B/Bradford
Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/West_Yorkshire/Bradford/
Regional/North_America/United_States/New_Hampshire/Localities/B/Bradford
Regional/North_America/United_States/Florida/Counties/Bradford

or maybe even Regional/North_America/Canada/Ontario/Localities/B/Bradford_West_Gwillimbury

I never assume that a UK on a URL means anything to do with a company being in the United Kingdom - and the areas you serve has nothing to do with where you get listed - so maybe you do not belong in any Bradford category

I have a site with a UK URL awaiting review and it's located in Dubai

There's an ambiguity in the placement of sites that would be in the Business_and_Economy/Event_Planning subcategory -- whether they go in your actual location, or the location covering the service area. It's left up to editor discretion -- in the United States, it's more-or-less decided at the state level, but states may have different positions.

In your position, I think I'd submit to http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/West_Yorkshire/Business_and_Economy/, with "serving Bradford and surrounding areas" in the description. But this suggestion is made without any consultation with the UK editors.

The main point I am trying to make is that when I go to the site - the address on the site does not clearly identify the location, no country, no county/state. An editor may decide that is not enough. It's a common problem I find on many web sites - the designer assumes his city is the only one by that name in the entire world.

Can you move it here for me or do I have to resubmit as a new site and start the process all over again

I am sorry, but I don't think you quite understand yet. There is nothing to move now. The site was already moved to that category and deleted by the reviewing editor because there was no location on the site. Bradford is just not specific enough. It has to distinquish on the site itself which Bradford. The reviewing editor will most likely not ever see this thread. And if you do not make it clear which Bradford on the site, it will likely be deleted again. The reviewing editor has to be able to see on the site that it belongs in that category. They will not list it there just because it is suggested there or because it is moved there. When the exact location is clear on the site, then please feel free to suggest it to that location in the Regional part of the directory. :)

You are absolutely right, I have no idea what has been going on

Okay - site has been duly tweeked to include a more definitive location, so how do I get it into

Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/West_Yorkshire/Bradford/

Go to that category, and suggest the site there, then bookmark this thread and you may come back on May 1, 2005 and request a status. :D

In most regional categories a site will be listed in the city it is located in. If an editor can not find an address on a site he might reject the site as he can not determine in which city category to put the site.
