Time required for a site to be listed?

I've been thinking for some time that someone should write a guide to submitters, "Zen and the art of Directory Maintenance." You know, "If your site truly contains the Tao-nature, you need do nothing at all: you may sit at a monitor and watch the ODP listing appear."

Sort of like "If a tree falls, will anybody..."

If my affiliate ad laden, under construction, lack of unique content site gets deleted by an editor, will anyone ever know?

I think two many marketroids have been reading Sun Tzu -- and getting confused. "Let's see, which do we do first here, dissemble or attack? I don't remember, let's do both!"

Somehow the ODP always gets tagged as the enemy, though...
