Unable to update URL

Hi,

I'm unable to update my URL in 'Where you can submit poems'. I've tried a few times on different computers, and I get the same message:

Bad Category - unable to submit URL

Two questions:
1) Are you at dmoz.org, or at some license-holder like directory.google.com, etc.?
2) Please give the exact URL of the category to which you are submitting.

The most likely situation is that the category has been moved or renamed, and you are looking at an out-of-date mirror (even the public side of dmoz.org is occasionally out-of-date.)

That's a real category?

Expect to see some changes in that area over the next few weeks.

I guess that it is supposed to be a list of poetry sites that you can submit your poems to, not actually be the place that you submit the poems.

No, I realised what the category was for, I just feel that it's a terrible name. Looking through some of the descriptions in there gave me the shudders.

It's there, but I am unable to update the listing. The entire site has changed, including the frontpage title- which now includes the 'poem of the day'. When I've tried to 'update url', I keep getting the same message:

Bad category...unable to update url...please go back

I've contacted the editor of the entire poetry section, and he sent me here, saying you guys were probably the best bet...

Ah... I see now.

"Add URL" has been turned off in that particular category, but "Update URL" still is visible. I think that since both is doing someting related - i.e. producing another entry in th ToDo-List, I guess updating is simply not working, too :-(

If its really urgent - like a bad URL or a typo, contact me via feedback. Otherwise I would suggest waiting till this (a bit strange) category has been dealt with, now that we got aware of it

The problem is that turning off the "add URL" function seems to disable "update URL" as well. I shall post a bug report as soon as I get a chance. Probably tomorrow afternoon.

Why "Add a site" is disabled for this category, I don't know. Perhaps it's about to be reorganized, or at least (Oh, please Lord, let it be) renamed.

I'm having problems editing right now that may be related: On the edit side, all urls are resolving to http://dmoz.org:8080/editors/ and certain activities are impossible, such as making new subcats. I'll post a separate notice if I don't see that someone else already has.

The edit side URLs are supposed to resolve to http://dmoz.org:8080/editors/, it's a recent change autumn made to allow her to control the number of editor connections seperately from the number of user connections.

Oooh... our own port number <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />.

In all due respect, only one word was changed in the description. I sent an entirely new description- we no longer offer calendars by state...

The title has changed, because we now feature the 'poem of the day' on the front page....

The addon you wanted to your title is written on the starting page, that is true. But neither does it reflect the whole actual site content, nor is it used as a site title.

Apart from minor additions to the description - keep in mind that we do not want large keyword-lists - I changed the URL to www.* as wished.

But, the 'poem of the day' is the main feature of the site. It is our product, how we are selling ourselves, do you see? It is the only site on the internet which has a 'poem of the day' which is user driven. The word 'poetism' does not get picked up by search engines, because it is not a commonly used word. Personally, I thought what I sent you was fine. Other sites in the odp have 'poem of the day' in their title, I think we should be given the same treatment....

We do not feature classical poets, I don't know where you got that. And, as I noted before, we do not have calendars, the entire site has been changed. I did not write the description for key word bids, I just wanted to give an accurate description of what poetism is about. The current description and title is misleading...

We offer a service for those seeking to get their work out into the world. Poetism is not making money off of people's work, such as poetry.com, or other high profile sites. We give the people what they want at no cost. People who submit their poems to our site get the chance to have them featured on the frontpage. We advertise upcoming poetry events, poetry venues (open mic, slam, etc). We also feature useful copyright information, free email, and a message board.

I'm not making a lot of money from this site, and I don't think I'm asking for too much here. I've updated my site, so I just want to update the listing. The title has been changed, the features have been changed. All I want is a listing that can communicate what Poetism is about...
