Where your site is hosted, where your target market is, and where your marketing director lives are irrelevant. If your site merits a listing in Regional (and it's not clear it does, if your workforce is spread over several countries), it would be listed where the company is physically located.

Especially since you said your company is located in Germany.

Regional US is absolutely not the place to have suggested your site.

And, as indicated by myself and others, the description your provided will definitely get rewritten by an editor.

In Regional we list sites in the location where there office/store is located.
Seems that your locality in http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Germany/ would be much more appropriate.
But in Regional we only list sites that have a regional relevance. IMHO SEO firms almost never have such a relevance. They normaly end up being listed under the most relevant topic, which in your case I guess would be somewhere under http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/

But don't despair, an editor will move your suggestion to what he thinks is the best category if the category you suggested your site is not appropriate.

OK. So for my understanding, even if my site is English, could I submit in the German Region directory? If yes, since I just submitted the site where I mentioned above, do you recommend me to re-submit, and now to the German region directory?

As I previously mentioned I have submitted 3 time since 2006 at this category without any success. And almost an hour ago in the California region category.

Do you recommend me to submit here http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Inter...Promotion/Search_Engine_Optimization_Firms/S/ ?

I am somehow confused after all. :)

If you have already suggested your sites 3 times since 2006 I advise you to not suggest it again.

Suggesting a site several times to the same category will just overwrite the previous suggestions. Doing so will reste the date the suggestion was made. It could make the time before the site is reviewed longer (if the reviewing editor sorts sites by date).

Suggesting a site many times to different categories might end up as you being marked as spammer. I don't think your 3 or 4 suggestions were enough to get this status already.

Thanks a lot for the very valuable feedback. I will definitely not submit again. Well, since I do not have another choice, I will just have to wait and hope. :)

Well,well...

I just wanted add here that I began believing that the whole thing is about having the right connections here at DMOZ. I just found out that the company SEOMOZ has 3 inclusions (including deeper pages) so far, and myself not even one.

I do not know if that violates any guidelines, but it I am sure that is not fair.

Editors thought two specific subsections were worthy of listing in two separate niche categories. I see nothing wrong there.

I did not know that it does not violate the guidelines of DMOZ. Good to know that. Thanks.

I also have some parts on my site that I can surely add to niche directories.

You'll notice that I said "Editors thought". That means that editors came across those pages and added them. That doesn't mean you should suggest sections of your site to multiple categories -- in fact, doing so could be considered spamming the directory, something we don't take too well.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. So in other words, do you mean that it would be appropriate and helpful for DMOZ if I report such issues?

Report what issues? The site you mentioned is not a problem. If you've found others that you think are a problem, then you can mention them in the special thread set up for that purpose in our Quality Control forum but if they're similar to the one you've already mentioned, they're not likely to be problems either.

Sometimes Motsa is simply too polite...:D

Suggest the site once. If the editors think it warrants multiple listings, they will grant it multiple listings.

It is a decision of the editor not of the site owners. Think about it -- every site owner and their mother thinks that their site is worthy of at least 16 listings -- when most sites are barely worth one listing.

And don't go counting out the number of listings for CNN...it is a bogus argument.
