I don't think that the guidelines for /Kids and Teens is any different than the rest of the directory. Only being a lowly editall/catmv, I did not have perms for the K&T category. Why would K&T allow deeplinking in the same category? I could see having the deeplink instead of the root, but not both.

Items 3403 through 3405 done. All parked, rather than hijacked, but still not something we want in the directory.

Hi!

While searching:

http://www.dmoz.org/Arts/Performing_Arts/Comedy/Clubs_and_Venues/North_America/United_States/Idaho/

I encountered the following issue I wanted to bring to your attention:

URL Changed. The title link is dead but if you go to the homepage and select Boise, you are taken to the correct site

Boise Funny Bone - Provides information about reservations, schedule, show times, discount passes and directions.

I suspect this is the URL that should be used.

Hi!

While searching:

http://www.dmoz.org/Society/Organiz...s/Regional/North_America/United_States/Idaho/

I encountered the following issue I wanted to bring to your attention:

Sophisticated Link Hijack. This is a sophisticated link hijack in that the first time you click the link (no prior cookie set), you are taken to a pay-per-click page. Press your browsers back button, click the link again and you'll be taken to the real site.

Canyon County Animal Control - Contains information about adoption, dog licenses, county laws, and tips for finding a lost pet.

To reproduce this:

1.) Clear your browsers cookies.
2.) Click the title link. You'll be taken to the pay-per-click page.
3.) Press your browsers back button.
4.) Re-click the link. You'll be taken to the real site.

Note: If your browser is set to deny cookies, you'll always go to the PPC page.

Redirecting a visitor that does not have a site cookie to a PPC page may not seem like a big issue but I did some searching and the webhost company that is doing this has over 4,000 ODP entries!

Correction to my post #3410

Sorry but I didn't quite describe the scenario correctly in my prior post #3410. Here it is again. Hope I get it right this time.

1.) Clear your browsers cookies.
2.) Click the title link. You'll be taken to a site where if you scroll down a bit past the PPC stuff, a message tells you the URL has changed and to click an image to be taken to the new site.
3.) Click the image. You'll be taken to the pay-per-click page.
4.) Press your browsers back button.
5.) Re-click the image link. You'll be taken to the real site if you accepted the fortunecity.com cookie. If you didn't accept the cookie, you'll go to their PPC page again.

ODP Category:

Subject Entry:

Canyon County Animal Control - Contains information about adoption, dog licenses, county laws, and tips for finding a lost pet.

Over 4,000 ODP entries this webhost company has.

Could some please update http://dmoz.org/Sports/Tennis/Instruction/ a little bit.

It seems like I'm the only one interested in maintaining that category.

I have found 4-5 dead links there over the last 4 months (which someone took of), how about updating that category with new sites as well.....

In the meantime, here's another dead one....

Fone International Tennis Academy - parked page.

RE: Item 3411

The URL listed is obviously not the correct URL as eventually you get through to the true url which is the one that should be considered. Unfortunately changes cannot be implemented until the maintenance described in the Announcement Sticky is completed. Hopefully, that will be sometime today and then tomorrow someone can tackle this.

You could always volunteer to edit it then ;)
(I don't review applications in that area, but you might find it easier to be accepted for the smaller http://dmoz.org/Sports/Tennis/Instruction/Camps/ sub-category first.)

And another off-topic thing: for tennis instruction that's only relevant to a certain geographic area, I'd have thought a listing somewhere in http://dmoz.org/Regional/ would be far more appropriate than in that global http://dmoz.org/Sports/Tennis/Instruction/ .

Hi!

While searching:

http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/North_...ess_and_Economy/Construction_and_Maintenance/

I encountered the following issues I wanted to bring to your attention:

Dead Link. It's also a duplicate entry in the category

Boise Steel Erectors, Inc. - Provides steel erection services in Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. Photos of projects and information about employment opportunities.

Potential Dead Link. At least it didn't work when I tried it.

Flooring and Tile Installation - Installation contractor for carpet, linoleum, tile, and hardwood

Parking Page.

Ideal Concrete Company - Contractor offering stamped concrete, commercial and residential work. Provides photos and contact information.
