When will the submit URL expected to be working?

Hello,

I am trying to Submit my site to the appropriate directory. But it shows service unavailable and try after 2 days. I am trying for the past one month to submit but I am seeing the same message in the Submit url page. When will the submit URL expected to be working? I am trying to submit to this category for our site <url removed> which is relevent to this category:
http://dmoz.org/Business/Business_Services/Consulting/Marketplaces/Talent_Auctions/

Please help us to include our url in this category.(Freelancers Marketplace)

Regards,

Harris

Site suggestion isn't one of the key features.

But, sigh, key features have been down too: just nothing that a user would notice.

Well, the key features are back now -- in fact, more features are working now than were working when I became an editor. (Which doesn't mean editing functionality isn't still the priority!)

The minor stuff will, I suspect, drag on for weeks more. Site suggestions are relatively unimportant to the working of the directory, but they'll be back eventually. And when they're back, we'll know when they'll be back.

Down for months?

I've been trying to add ([url removed]) since September. I just keep getting those "try back in a few days" messages.:(

The only people who can work on it are the staff at AOL. There isn't even anything we editors can do, I'm afraid, but thank you for the offer! :)

I believe that AOL, who hosts the server that the DMOZ is on, essential put all their eggs (DMOZ) into a single basket (Single Server) and dropped the basket. Not much we can do except complain to AOL and add content to our sites.

Kind of late to complain to AOL. I understand they were already talking about how they "really needed a way to backup the eggs in that basket into another bask--oops."

And now they have two bask-, um, backups for all those, um, omelets, when they get them back together.

..because the service is unavailable. There was a major systems failure a coupla months ago and not all features have yet been enabled again.

When the situation changes (we don't know when that will be.), the announcement thread at the top of every forum will be updated.

Didn't you see the posting just above yours. It was only made 4 hours ago.

Reading postings like yours does wonder me if I should be
 , :confuse2: or

If that's a request for a status check, check out the forum posting guidelines in http://www.resource-zone.com/guidelines.php and thanks for following them in the future.

But the basic answer is: the whole point of the ODP is NOT to manage tasks or priorities down to the individual site suggestion level, so the processes necessary for that kind of micromanagement simply aren't present.

If it's a question about why site suggestions don't seem to work right now, you can monitor the Announcement at http://www.resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=45325 to stay abreast of what we know, when we know it.
