I was checking my site, salonperfume.com, to see if it is already listed in the 'Top: Shopping: Health: Beauty: Fragrances' category (not listed yet) and later 'clicked' on all sites listed under the 'Top: Shopping: Health: Beauty: Fragrances' category and 'Top: Shopping: Health: Beauty: Perfume' category to see what are they offering and found the following sites not to be working. Sites status is the same as it was a week ago - I checked these sites everyday for one week.

Working on #909. Thanks for your care.

Actually our link checker removed most of the dead links on 26 November and others were removed by alert editors in the days since, but they may still be visible on the public side in some versions. I can't see them myself.

Two were not picked up though and I have now taken them out, along with the site with changed content. So thanks again for that effort.

I also spent a while working in the general area. If (as I suspect) you have a site waiting there, I either kicked it closer to being reviewed, or cleared away some of the other waiting sites that otherwise might have distracted editors from it.

In checking for dead links (meaning not just pages with a 404 error etc) I've found it useful to open a page with Firefox, and then open each link in a new tab (not a new window). It speeds up the process considerably. Manually checking each link is important because often pages are hijacked by the domain registrar and return a page ok header.
