caligirl78 - Have you tried replying a few times, usually it will go through after a few tries.

Sorry for the inconvenience, AOL is working to fix the problem.

Hi photofox,

I've tried 10-15 different replies with the same result. I'll keep trying if you would like me to.

Thanks for your help.

***Update*** It worked. I received my acceptance email. I was afraid I would be spamming if I launched a bunch of replies, and lets say they DID go through.

Please try again at intervals until you get a more sensible reply. It can take quite a few attempts but we have no means of bypassing the process.

Hi!

I've applied to be an editor, my registration key is : opendir - 8d77eb19f0242bff2cd5c376c1ccc845 I have replied to the email about 15 times and I have also emailed staff@dmoz.org...the same error came up from the direct e-mail. Please let me know how I can do this?

Thanks!

Thank you for the information. After a few repeated attempts to email the confirmation message at intervals, I finally received the confirmation message.

Can't find your authentication ticket

Ok I've read how you have to submit your application email like 20 times to get a real response back.

I did that and i'm getting a response "Can't find your authentication ticket"

I'm hoping that means it was received and under review.

Can someone please confirm that it's been received?

Thanks much, very much appreciated.

Excellent :).

The first time that the servers actually received your response, they will have passed the application on to us humans and eaten the authentication ticket (opendir number). When they received a subsequent response from you, they couldn't find the ticket.

I get the same garbage reply too. It's quite frustrating that dmoz is incapable of rerouting emails properly.

Anyway... I'll keep trying to send messages as I want to be the editor for the Stockholm Region section. Considering there is a sex link in that directory, the listing desperately needs an editor (unless dmoz supports adult content as "society and culture"...?).

my id is: opendir - c592f31c2ba92d7e6d8a82db33137e6f

Good luck to everyone else! :)

Tell me about it :(.

Volunteer editors are completely powerless in this matter of course. All we can do is apologise for AOL's inability to fix it.

Thanks Jim, at least the issue is known to many.

As for getting denied... that's seriously messed up. Took 3 minutes to deny my application? :( Did anyone read it or was it a bot?
