I've found these dups when looking for curve fitting software. I'm not an editor and I don't know what are you doing with dups, but a bot would be needed to eliminate all of them.
BTW the "Regression and Curve Fitting" cat seems to be neglected a bit. 4 years ago or so I requested a move of my site from another category to this one, and the site disappeared completely from DMOZ.

The site below redirects to a different site.

From what I have read this is not allowed.

It is also causing a problem listing active <url removed> sites.

Maybe an editor could update the <url removed> site to it's actual redirect location of <url removed>.

@karbz - Thanks for pointing those out, but most appear to be legitimate multiple listings (assuming that the content on the URLs is still relevant to the categories they are listed in).
curvefitting & oakdaleengr being the same is an issue, now fixed.

We as a group have been attempting to add <url removed> to the DMOZ.ORG index list but seem to be unsuccessful at doing so. We thought it was due to the MnWorks.Org site listing which was not an active domain but a redirected domain.

I'll browse over to the forum that covers listing your domain in the dmoz.org site.
If I told you one of our domains was registered in 1997 and submitted about once each year and never made the listings. I would bet we have been submitting the site wrong all this time.

Looks like a hijack that redirects to a virus.

Fiesta Weekends - I failed to get redirected anywhere else in either Firefox or IE, no virus - Also I don't see an obvious hijack...
Is it still doing it for you and can you add some more details please?

When I try the the link in Explorer 9 the page keeps trying to load then redirect to a page that will not load. I then get a message pop up from my Norton Antivirus: 'Norton blocked an attack by: Web Attack: Blackhole Toolkit Website 7 from http://www.fiestaweekends.com.

In firefox the page loads and I get the same warning come up from Norton but I also get a Firefox Alert box stating 'URL is not valid and cannot be loaded'.

This happens everytime I try.

Maybe it is an error with Norton but it hasn't happened on any other sites.

I'm getting a similar warning from AVG, though the page still loads. It seems to be alienego.com/adv/ego/fmcuewen9.php that is triggering the warning. It may be related to the news Flash module at the top of the page since that no longer loads properly.

Thinking about it. It's probably not loading because Norton is stopping it from loading as soon as it detects a problem.

Then I would suggest you remove the <url removed> link which is still in place.
Your own QA section states that domain name redirects will be removed.
Your moderator stated they were going to update the link to refect the correct name of the site and the correct URL.

If you allow redirects from TLDs then you are saying those that have TLDs without redirects can not be entered into the DMOZ.ORG listings.

XYZ.Org redirects to 123.Net which then makes it impossible for XYZ.COM to be listed because you have an XYZ.ORG .

Or do your QA policies apply to only those you feel rank higher?

Interesting to read you edited out the active TLD and what remains is a redirected link in your index.
The Quality of your DMOZ.ORG index has lost so many points over the years.

We don't list the doorway, we list the target and that correction was made in your case - as elper reported here back in May. I can't imagine why you didn't simply use the update URL link at the top of the page.

Our search is out of date and doesn't reflect the status of the actual directory. We editors have no clue when AOL will fix that and no means of forcing them to do so. Search is primarily intended to find an appropriate category and, in that regard, it's fine.

It's interesting that you're so aggrieved that you're going to broadcast your posts elsewhere but I can't actually work out what you're currently complaining about. What you wanted done was done - and pretty quickly at that despite your unorthodox and currently aggressive approach.

XYZ.org being listed -- whether it redirected somewhere else or not -- would have zero effect on whether or not XYZ.com could be listed unless they were just different URLs for the same site. (Then we'd only list one.) Editors actually look at sites to see whether or not they are related, they don't just look at the domain names and make assumptions based on that.

You seem to be upset over a misconception that you have about why your own site isn't listed yet. Your site isn't listed yet because either (a) no one has gotten around to reviewing it yet or (b) it isn't listable. Either way, it has nothing at all to do with whether or not another similar URL was listed. (And as jimnoble points out, that redirect was corrected months ago. Go look in the actual category and you'll see that. We editors have no control over the search results.)

My old website which is no longer online is listed in the directory and is therefore a dead link. Is there a way of reporting this without the url being displayed in this forum?

Jim, because the URL relates to my old business website, I personally don't want it displayed on here in case search engines find it, etc. With the site redundant I am trying to remove the URLs presence from the web. Can it be sent to you by PM instead?

Thanks for doing that. Unfortunately search engines are out of our control but hopefully they'll catch up in due course.
